What's good flooring for a concrete subfloor?

You'll need to consider your subfloor when shopping for new floors. The subfloor provides a solid foundation for the surface floor, foot traffic level, and even some furnishings, such as appliances and cabinets.

Subfloors affect the appearance and performance of the surface floor. While concrete subfloors can be hard and damp, they will work with any flooring that is installed to float. This includes luxury vinyl, laminate, waterproof flooring, and engineered wood floors.

Why a floating floor?

Simply because it hovers and isn't affixed, the pieces first click, mat, then it's placed over the subfloor without nails or adhesives.

Subfloors need only be clean, dry, and level. Your flooring store staff will advise as to whether you need an underlayment.

The floors come with depth, dimension, and textured looks. The vinyl is cut into planks or square, tile-sized pieces.

It's durable, waterproof, and low maintenance. If you want the highest level of moisture protection, choose waterproof flooring.
